Tip Friday Aluminium Foil

Tin Foil

Good Morning, Buongiorno, tere hommikust, Huomenta!!!

It is a Friday yay! Even as I am a Mom doesn't change so much, everyday is a working day.
SO I have decided for honour of Friday to share every single friday some tips how you can use your domestic products very clever way.

Create Individual Baking molds

You can make Teddy Bear mold for birthday party, Heart shape for a Valentines day or  star for the christmas. Make the molds with double layer Aluminium foil then put it into  bigger Cake mold and fill with dough.

Prevent ice cream from flowing

You can save your childrens clothes and your home Fabrics as Sofa or Carpets if you roll the aluminium foil under the Ice Cream stick.

Moving your Furnitures at home

If you need to move your Furnitures around the house over the smooth floor. Take a few pieces of Aluminium foil the shimmery part against the floor.Attach them on your furniture legs or part that is going to be touched with floor. This way moving furnitures is more easy and doesn't scratch your floor.

Faster Ironing

You can Faster your Ironing by putting some Aluminium foil under the Ironing table cover. This way the heat doesn't pass the table but reflects back. And you can get double power. I like this one.

Also if you have sticky Iron you can clean it by passing over the aluminium foil few times and your iron is smooth again.

Make a Solarium for your Plants

Plants that needs lot of Sunlight and doesn't get that much as they need, you can easily create box from carton and aluminium foil just cutting one side of the box and and covering the inside with Aluminium foil the shiny side. This way the foil is reflecting The daylight and your plants are satisfied.

Make you scissors Cut again

If you have some leftovers from aluminium foil you can easily make you scissors cut again. Fold the aluminium foil into 3-4 layers and just start to cut some slices. 8 - 9 times should be enough. (with the slices that you have cut you can put them into your garden soil to prevent the insect and snails getting into your goods.)

Be a professional photographer

You can use Aluminium foil to glue it over a piece of carton and reflect  soft light while you are taking some selfies. ;)

Make your silver shine again

line inside a container with Aluminium foil. Pour some hot boiled water and teaspoon of colour laundry washing powder. (no liquid) put your silver into for a 1 min. And then rinse them well and leave them dry. Chemical reaction polishing and make your silver shine.

This was all about the Aluminium foil hope you liked my tip Friday. If you have any your own tip to share WRITE!!! :) Have a Beautiful Friday

Ahoy Captain I will sail away :)

Caffè Latte and milk Cartons

Drinking my Caffè Latte in this rainy morning and thinking how many things you can do with milk Cartons. Searching in Google about new Ideas and I am amazed how cool things you can do with them.  Anyway as I am stucked with Cement or beton I used it this way. Only made some changes and "rethinked" in my way. Also consider that my Cactus need to have more fashionable pot.

containers and pot

New purposes

I also used my old spice bottles full of spices that already went old in 2010 haha. I think you can stick into beton whatever you like. It looks always good. Ok here what you need:

scissors
Cement, beton
plastic mug or other plastic container
painter tape
milk cartons
creativity
some stuff stick into the beton
good mood

Cutting half the milk Carton
I started with cutting half my empty milk carton, then I visualized how it need to be and started to cut some holes into angles of carton. for the spice bottle you need to cut holes into and put the bottles as you wish before pouring cement on it. then i cut some pieces and taped them to give a form. now as my mould is ready I mix my cement and water to create perfect mixture.  leave a 2 cm space don't fill it too much. Then  press the plastic mug into carton and put some weight on it to create hole for your plant or cactus.

for spice bottle carton do it same pour cement over  your bottles until the edge. And now you can wait as the cement gets hard. And you are done :)

It would be nice if someone could share your Ideas about doing some DIY here! waiting your cool Ideas :) anyway have beautiful week. muacks!

Saint Valentine and diy neon pink Pot Coaster

San Valentino Terni

Have you ever wonder what means really Valentine´s day and where it comes?

well, here what I found : Numerous early Christian martyrs were named Valentine. The Valentines honored on February 14 are Valentine of Rome and Valentine of Terni. Valentine of Rome was a priest in Rome who was martyred about AD 496 and was buried on the Via Flaminia.

J.C. Cooper, in The Dictionary of Christianity, writes that Saint Valentine was "a priest of Rome who was imprisoned for succouring persecuted Christians." Contemporary records of Saint Valentine were most probably destroyed during this Diocletianic Persecution in the early 4th century.

In the 5th or 6th century, a work called Passio Marii et Marthae published a story of martyrdom for Saint Valentine of Rome, perhaps by borrowing tortures that happened to other saints, as was usual in the literature of that period. The same events are also found in Bede's Martyrology, which was compiled in the 8th century. It states that Saint Valentine was persecuted as a Christian And interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II in person. Claudius was impressed by Valentine and had a discussion with him, attempting to get him to convert to Roman paganism in order to save his life. Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. Because of this, he was executed. Before his execution, he is reported to have performed a miracle by healing Julia, the blind daughter of his jailer Asterius.

Saint Valentine
The jailer's daughter and his forty-four member household (family members and servants) came to believe in Jesus and were baptized. A later Passio repeated the legend, adding that Pope Julius I built a church over his sepulchre (it is a confusion with a 4th-century tribune called Valentino who donated land to build a church at a time when Julius was a Pope). The legend was picked up as fact by later martyrologies, starting by Bede's martyrology in the 8th century. It was repeated in the 13th century, in Legenda Aurea. The book expounded briefly the Early Medieval acta of several Saint Valentines, and this legend was assigned to the Valentine under February 14.

Another embellishment is that Saint Valentine would have performed clandestine Christian weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry. The Roman Emperor Claudius II supposedly forbade this in order to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. However, this supposed marriage ban was never issued, and in fact Claudius II told his soldiers to take two or three women for themselves after his victory over the Goths.
According to legend, in order "to remind these men of their vows and God’s love, Saint Valentine is said to have cut hearts from parchment", giving them to these soldiers and persecuted Christians, a possible origin of the widespread use of hearts on St. Valentine's Day.

It was really interesting to read about this love fulfilled day. From here I jump into my next Diy for you.
Hot Pot

This What you need:
Some wood plates abut 14 cm x 14cm
drill
wool
scissors
paper
felt or other material
super glue or hot gun glue

First think what you would like to text to your coaster (not too long words). If you have some kind of program with different fonts, use it. I have Illustrator so I picked up font and made the letter big as I wanted to be on my coaster. Then I put blank paper on my screen and copied with free hand on my paper. ( I don't have printer)
¨
Then I cut the letters out with my scissors and now copied the letters on to my coaster.

Letters

Then pick up your drill and choose smallest drill bed for wood. Start to drill aligned holes on your coaster.

Stitching
Choose your wool colour and start to stitch how you want. At the end to cover all messy part behind the coaster, I super glued piece of felt behind it.

Flu is chasing us

Between the mountains it is really cold and humid here in Cava de ' Tirreni. It easy to get all kind of virus and bacillus in randomly. In first round we won Stomach virus that were spiced up with nice fever and vomiting all night long. Then the second round we got some flu with the nice cough and little angina.  I have used all home remedies from breathing hot potato to massaging some goose fat to chest. Not to mention sleeping with the onion bowl next to you. And the next day its smells in every where . :) these are my mother and grandmother remedies.

In Italy, generally when flu comes the first thing they do is to take medicine or even antibiotics. For me it is really strange. For me the medicines comes in last place when all home remedies doesn't work. Anyway here are few "witch" :) craft that we do:

Hot potato breathing  : relaxing your cough and gives relief for breathing

Goose fat: Gives you warming feeling on your chest

onion slices: Keeps your nose open for better breathing, and takes all the bacteria and virus in itself. So need to throw away at the next  morning.

Goose fat

Will see how this week is going to be..

Valentines carpet
I also wanted to share how you can do it by yourself at home, you will need:

creeper mat
lot of old cloth
scissors
lot of patience :)

first thing to figure out what measure you want to give for your flying carpet ;)
in Italy creeper mat costs about 4 euros 1 meter

creeper mat

Then dig your closet and get some old cotton shirts, old blankets etc. I used my babys crib old blankets as she has grown up and sleep in her new bed now. I wanted that the colour is the same on the carpet so I coloured all cloths in washing machine and leaved only part of heart in original colour. If you want to colour keep in mind that clothes need to be a cotton.

Then get your scissors and give them to work. Cut stripes about 3 cm large and 10 cm long.
Scissors at work

Take a creeper mat and start to make knots. AND RELAX :)

Knot making

Use your Imagination to make different forms and colours over it. Have fun and fly away :D
